Message From The Chairman

Welcome to our website.

AL-MS Section of the AWWA is committed to providing value to our members. Our goal is to be the go-to resource in Alabama and Mississippi for water professionals. As evidence of that, take a look around our site. You’ll find applications for the Section Scholarship Program, which has given out nearly $40,000 worth of scholarships in its initial two years. These scholarships are for students interested in pursuing or enhancing a career in the water industry in Alabama or Mississippi. It’s open to traditional college students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and students pursuing advanced licensure or training in a water works related field. You’ll also find applications for our Awards program. Know an outstanding Operator or Young Professional? A utility with an exceptional Distribution System or Treatment Plant? Get them the recognition they deserve and nominate them for one of our prestigious awards. Another item you’ll discover is that we place a high value on continuing education. Navigate over to our Education/Training page and see what on-site training is coming to your area or available remotely in webinar format. Last year we had a training or education event each month throughout Alabama and Mississippi. Need something that fits into your busy schedule, or after hours? Try our Online Training site, free to members, accredited in Alabama and Mississippi, and provided in conjunction with 360Water, considered the industry standard for online education.

Check back regularly or like us on Facebook for updates as more information and opportunities become available.

Finally, be looking for registration information for our 2016 Conference and Exhibition. Come join us on Montgomery’s Riverfront in October at the Renaissance Hotel!
